As Counsel with EY Law LLP’s Global Trade team, Hannibal advises clients on complex international trade and investment matters, including advocacy before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and National Security Reviews under the Investment Canada Act.

Based in Ottawa, he has practiced at national law firms in Toronto, Beijing and Ottawa. Hannibal brings experience serving clients across the construction, critical minerals, retail, pharmaceutical and internet sectors. Hannibal is a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, having served as a Captain in the Army.

Hannibal regularly supports APAC clients on cross-border matters. He speaks Mandarin proficiently, reads and writes Chinese, and is also fluent in French.

Hannibal also serves as a Director with the Hong Kong Canada Business Association (Ottawa Section). Drawing on international experience, military service and a strong cross-border perspective, Hannibal brings a distinctive lens to help clients manage complex global trade issues.
