Devin provides a wide range of business immigration legal services on high-volume immigration matters, including non-immigrant visas, green card matters and short term business travel support.

Experience

Prior to joining EY Law LLP, Devin served as a Regional Protection Officer for Mixed Migration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) based out of UNHCR Office for Southern Africa in Pretoria South Africa. Devin's prior business immigration law experience comes from work as an Associate at two large immigration law firms in Pennsylvania and New York where she handled immigrant and non-immigrant as well as family-based and naturalization petitions and applications for multinational corporations and universities. In addition to her experience working on a wide range of non-immigrant classifications, including L-1, H-1B, TN, K-1, J-1, P-1, R-1, O-1, as well as I-140 immigrant petitions based on PERM filings and Multinational Manager, Outstanding Researcher, National Interest Waiver petitions and I-485 filings. She also handled cases involving inadmissibility waivers, deportation relief, and asylum.

Devin has taught Legal Practice and International Refugee Law at Peking University School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen, China and guest lectured at the University of Pittsburgh Law School and Duquesne Law School on refugee/asylum law and grounds of (and relief from) inadmissibility and deportation. She started her career as the Staff Attorney at VIVE, Inc. where she represented asylum seekers before the Immigration Judge. She also presented the Know Your Rights Presentation at the Federal Detention Center, handled the cases of many detained immigrants, and those seeking relief based on claims of gender violence, trafficking, and forced marriage. Devin served as Legal Research Consultant on refugee denials in Bangkok, Thailand; developed a Refugee Rights Training Program for the University of Cape Town Law School, and is the author of several publications relating to international refugee and international law.

Devin is licensed to practice in New York and Massachusetts and is a registered Foreign Legal Consultant with the Law Society of Upper Canada. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, American Bar Association and the New York and Massachusetts Bar Associations. She is currently the CBP Liaison for AILA Canada and was previously the Pro Bono National Liaison and local chair as part of the AILA Chapter for Western Pennsylvania.

Credentials

She holds her Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School, a Masters of Public Health (MPH) in International Health Epidemiology from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and A Bachelor’s degree in Government from Smith College. She also holds several Certificates in International Refugee Law.
