Neil H Spencer
Neil is an associate at EY Law LLP in Vancouver, where he manages a Canadian immigration practice. He has practiced business immigration law since 2012.
Neil’s practice focuses primarily on assisting foreign businesses transfer employees and recruit new temporary foreign workers while establishing or expanding operations in Canada. He currently manages the Canadian immigration programs for local and international corporate clients in various industries, including information technology, animation and visual effects, natural resources, financial services, life sciences, automotive, retail, engineering services and construction. Neil has helped industries negotiate changes to existing work-permit-related categories and create new ones. He works with government, city, and industry organizations to promote Vancouver as a strategic location for foreign companies to set up North American operations.
Prior to joining EY Law LLP, Neil practiced business immigration law at a boutique human resources firm in Vancouver and articled at a prominent national full-service firm.
Neil is a member of the Canadian Bar Association BC Immigration Section, BC Technology Industry Association, Canada-Japan Society of BC, Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers and Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre.
Neil received his LLB and BMLSc from the University of British Columbia before being called to the British Columbia Bar in 2011.
