Melanie leads high performing teams in providing US business immigration services to clients on a wide range of matters, including H-1Bs, L-1As, L-1Bs, PERM, I-140 petitions, immigrant visas and adjustment of status applications. Melanie has provided immigration counsel to clients in across industries and sectors, including arts and entertainment, sports, higher education, mining and metals, architecture, finance, information technology and professional services.
Melanie joined EY Law LLP after practicing for several years as a US immigration attorney in New York, where she represented clients from diverse backgrounds in all aspects of immigration law, including family and employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions, naturalization, asylum, VAWA, criminal issues, waivers and removal defense, before such entities as the immigration courts, BIA, USCIS, U.S. Department of State, Administrative Appeals Office and Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
Melanie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Cornell University (2004) and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota (2007). She is licensed to practice law in the United States and is a registered foreign legal consultant with the Law Society of Upper Canada. She is admitted to the New York State Bar (2008) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit (2009). She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (New York and Canada chapters).
